The origin story

It started with a simple question.

What if someone built a 4X4 the way serious drivers actually needed it—capable, durable and ready for hard work?

The answer began during a conversation at The Grenadier pub in Belgravia, London. INEOS Chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a lifelong 4X4 enthusiast, envisioned a modern successor to the honest, hard-working off-road vehicles of the past.

An idea takes shape

Built the proper way.

The first Grenadier concept was famously sketched on a £5 note. That early drawing captured the spirit of the entire project: straightforward, functional and focused on what a true utility vehicle should accomplish.
